Whenever I began to think that the movie lacked a narrative, the Grinch rewarded me with montage scenes of him throwing cash while women danced. No comments necessary on that part. I find it amusing that this film was suggested to me on Tubi, which seems to know my tastes perfectly. The plot feels minimal in a film that stretches on for what seems like an eternity, with characters yelling their lines throughout.

It was also released in March, an odd choice for a film that revolves around the festive season, but who am I to judge the filmmakers’ choices? This aspect is rather minor compared to the movie’s overall flaws. Instead, let’s highlight its most enjoyable moments, which predominantly feature voluptuous black women reveling in the joy of dancing and shedding their garments. I wish the Grinch didn’t hold misogynistic views, but this isn’t the film in which he’ll grow or change. I doubt anyone would be interested in that narrative. We can only hope he improves in his next appearance.

You can’t be aware of a movie titled The Grinch That Stole Bitches and not give it a watch. Recently released on Hood Tubi and the first one I’ve seen in quite some time, The Grinch is a well-timed film. It’s only an hour long. And wow, what a lengthy hour it is.

Directed by Malik Marcell, who is mostly recognized for his debut…well, not exactly a feature-length project, The Grinch That Stole Bitches features Otis ‘Money Bag Mafia’ Mcintosh as the Grinch. Essentially, he is a guy dressed in a Grinch outfit complemented by green face paint and a shirt that reads “In Glock We Trust.” He also has moments where he suddenly roars, and his face while sleeping is quite unsettling.

You might wonder, “Connor, what’s the storyline of a movie titled The Grinch That Stole Bitches?” The answer is that it tells a touching tale of men learning to value their partners and the contributions they make. Just kidding. Actually, I’m not joking; that is indeed part of the film. The Grinch is released on bail from jail, somehow, and returns to the streets to orchestrate his revenge. His target? Santa.

Santa is portrayed by Navv Greene, along with his wife Mrs. Claus, played by Christianne ‘Chrissy Cindy’ Jones. With the assistance of his associates Lil G (Nigel Rhoden) and Lil E (Marly St. Cloud), the Grinch’s initial scheme is to rob Santa. However, he comes to realize he could infuriate Santa even more by taking his women. And then he goes on to abduct a whole lot of other ladies. The Grinch takes so many women that it actually leads to a famine since there are no women left to prepare dinner for their children. I’m serious, that’s part of the plot.

Of course, this film is absolutely amazing. The performances? Excellent. The storyline? I have no idea what’s going on in the final thirty minutes, and honestly, I’m not bothered by it. There aren’t really any experienced actors in this film, but it doesn’t really matter because they all possess a natural charm and magnetism. I particularly found the news anchor amusing, who quits her job because she seems to be the only one not receiving Grinch affection. That’s another real plot detail.

The sound quality is what you’d expect from a hood Tubi movie, and I suspect it was edited on the same iPhone that filmed it. Do you want scenes where characters are simultaneously so loud that the microphone distorts, yet also so soft that even the subtitles can’t discern if anything is being expressed? That’s offered here. By the way, don’t waste your time watching this film if you are hard of hearing; the Tubi subtitles have no idea what anyone is saying a good portion of the time. The audio sometimes comes through crystal clear, or it might sound as if the characters are talking through a hairdryer.

However, don’t let that deter you, as it’s just an hour long and truly an amazing film. The real star, of course, is Otis McIntosh, who filmed the entire movie while dressed in a Grinch costume. Additionally, Erica Duchess, who portrays Greisha, also shot her scenes in a Grinch outfit. It’s this commitment to detail that really unifies these films.
