Kamila Valieva skating career began at RSDUSSHOR in Kazan, where she has been training. Ksenia Ivanova, Marina Kudriavtseva, Igor Lyutikov, and Natalia Dubinskaya were the first people to coach her.

At age 6, she moved from her home in Russia to Moscow to go to SSHOR Moskvich. She chose to switch skating clubs to Sambo-70 in the spring of 2018, and Eteri Tutberidze gave her the opportunity to join her team.
